A door that closed...

She wanted to be a doctor.

Vajreswari, Vajru to those who loved her, always wanted to be a doctor. She was drawn to the quiet dignity of healing and caring for people.

She lost her mother at fourteen. At sixteen, she lost her father. Her path to that dream was snuffed out. With little money and strict social norms, marriage was the only road to security. Destiny brought her to Coonoor as a young bride, and she lived there until her death in 2009. For three decades she gave herself to her family as a wife, mother and homemaker, diligently and selflessly.

She never became a doctor. She never stopped caring for people.

Her story inspires us to realize, through others, the dream she held as a young girl.

MyHeti is a ray of hope for bright scholars on the verge of giving up a noble career for lack of money.

Fittingly, MyHeti begins its journey in Coonoor, the place Vajru called home.
