Why the Nilgiris
The Nilgiris is home to many of our founding team members. Having been educated in Coonoor, our founder, Dr. Ringo Rajagopal, is a third-generation Nilgiris resident; his family has lived here for over seven decades. An entrepreneur and teacher, his dream of starting MyHeti was to give back to the place that shaped him and gave him his roots.
MyHeti is also a humble attempt to honor Vajreswari Rajagopal’s dream of becoming a doctor. Economic and social circumstances prevented this dream from becoming a reality.
MyHeti is the resilient dedication to one belief: no girl child should be denied the chance to pursue a career as noble and compassionate as healthcare and wellness.
In Sanskrit, heti is a ray of light, and “Vajra” the thunderbolt weapon. MyHeti means my ray of light: my weapon against adversity, to overcome every obstacle and reach the goal of a lifetime. The young girl in the yellow dress symbolizes the prosperity and auspiciousness she brings to this noble endeavor. It is our resolve that every MyHeti scholar will aspire to make this world a happier, healthier and prosperous place.
